Senior Special Events

Through rewarding partnerships with local schools and organizations, Community Services sponsors a number of special events for senior adults throughout the year:

  • In May, we host our Healthy Living Lecture Series with an afternoon of interesting health lectures, health screenings, and complimentary refreshments at the Fine Arts Center. It's an informative, fun event for all seniors and their families!
  • Each summer, area residents are treated to a special picnic hosted by Cascade Township officials and firefighters.
  • Each fall, area residents enjoy a live musical performance (usually a vocalist with musicians) at the Fine Arts Center.
  • And every December we welcome the holiday season with a festive luncheon.

Enchanted Woodland Garden Party

Friday, February 3, 2017

7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Frederik Meijer Gardens, Grand Room

Event Code: 17WYDDDANCE

There is something captivating about the idea of an enchanted forest. It’s timeless, charming, and a perfect theme for a young lady in kindergarten through sixth grade, with her adult accompaniment to enjoy at Frederik Meijer Gardens.

This year, we will embrace the magic of mystical wonderlands by creating a masterpiece of desserts, dancing, and social time with friends. DJ Scott Ptak will spin the music to get the fun going. A photographer will be available for those cherished moments at an additional cost, or bring those smartphones to capture the memory.

Space is limited; please sign up early. No “evening of” registrations will be granted at the door!

Registration

• Early bird resident couple $54, early bird non-resident couple $64

• Week-of resident couple $64, week-of non-resident couple $74
For either of the above options, if you would like to add an additional child, $25; two or more additional children (from the same household), $30

To register online for the dance, please click or tap here. If you have questions or would like to register on the phone, please call the FHPS Community Services office at (616) 493-8950, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. No “evening of” registrations will be granted at the door!

On the evening of the dance, registered couples (and additional siblings, if registered) will be on a list at the reception table before you enter the Grand Room. Please check in when you arrive.
