Registration Tips and Policies

We offer the following tips and policies to ensure your class registrations are hassle-free. Please call us weekdays during business hours if you need assistance. Our assistance line is (616) 493-8950.

Registering Your Child for Youth Classes

Tip 1:   Create a separate account for each child using his/her name, your email address, and a unique password just for your child’s account.

Tip 2:  Login using your email address and your child’s password to register him/her for a class.

Tip 3:  When paying for the class(es) with your credit card, your child’s name will appear as the card holder. This is normal for our payment system. Proceed with payment submission.

Tip 4:  Look for an email confirming your child’s registration. It may also have important details about the class, suggested materials to bring, etc.

Tip 5:  If you have duplicate registration accounts, just call our office at (616) 493-8950 and we will gladly delete the duplications.

Registration Steps

Online registration is easy! Here are the simple steps to take:

Step 1:  Click on the Classes/Events button above. Login on the left using your email address and your (or your child's) password. (Note: if you are a new registrant, click on "New User?" and complete and submit the online "new account" form. Responses marked with an asterisk * are required.)

Step 2:  On the enrollment card page, click the button named View Course Catalog at the bottom of the page. Select a category of classes from the group listed. To view the details of a class, click on its class code.

Step 3:  On the class description page, click the button named Enroll Yourself once you have decided to enroll. Select the course fee that matches your residency status (this is verified) and then click the Finish Registration button. Complete the credit card information form and click the Submit Payment button (only once). Note: If you are registering your child for a youth class, his or her name will show up as the credit card holder. This is normal for our payment processing system, so proceed with payment submission.

Step 4:  If your registration was sucessfully received and processed, a registration confirmation page will be displayed. A confirmation email with the registration specifics is also sent to your email address. If you wish to cancel your registration, call us at (616) 493-8950 on weekdays during business hours.

Note:  As a reminder, you will receive an automated email notification a few days before your class starts. It will show the class start date, time, and location. You will receive this notice automatically unless you chose to opt out of this service when you created your account.

Payments and Payment Processing

Our online registration system uses the secure PayPal payment processing system. We accept payment using your VISA or MasterCard. We do not accept PayPal payments, or American Express or Discover card payments for classes. If you would like to fax your class order to us (using your VISA or MasterCard for payment), please fax your completed class order form to us at (616) 493-8959. You can also pay for classes using cash (in person only) or check (sent by traditional mail or in person). Registration Policies

 

Early Bird Pricing

Community Services offers a savings (up to $10 for each class) for those registering at least one week before a class starts. Look for class prices in our catalog marked with our early bird icon.

Senior Citizen Discount

Community Services offers a 25% discount on many classes for Forest Hills residents age 60 and older. Some restrictions may apply. Eligible classes are marked with the Encore (shooting) star.

Class Cancellations, Withdrawls, and Refunds

Classes cancelled by Community Services prior to the first day of class entitle enrolled students to a full refund. At times, we must postpone or relocate classes. Changes, while unavoidable, are kept to a minimum. If you withdraw from a course up to three full working days in advance of its starting date, you will receive a refund minus a $10 processing fee, or a full course credit to be used within one year of the date of issue.
